Establishment of Committee for SC / ST

As per the guidelines of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the SC/ST Cell has been consti tuted in the institution to address the issues, welfare, and grievances of students, staff, and faculty members belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) communities.

The SC/ST Cell safeguards constitutional rights such as the Right to Equality, Prohibition of Discrimination, and Equality of Opportunity, while ensuring the effective implementation of Government policies and welfare programmes.

Objectives of the SC/ST Cell
  • Ensure effective implementation of Government policies and programmes for SC/ST students and staff.
  • Assist students in improving their academic performance and overall personal and social development.
  • Help students overcome inferiority complex and encourage positive interaction with fellow students.
  • Provide post-admission guidance regarding curriculum, optional subjects, campus environment, and institutional facilities.
  • Arrange language improvement classes to enhance communication skills and personality development.
  • Provide career guidance and counselling services.
  • Conduct remedial and co-curricular coaching for skill development, assignments, presentations, public speaking, and interview preparation.
  • Organize special coaching classes using SCP funds exclusively for the welfare of SC/ST students.
  • Provide semester-wise Book Bank facilities.
  • Redress all genuine grievances relating to academic, administrative, and social matters.

Functions of the Committee

The Committee shall meet at least twice in every semester under the Chairmanship of the Principal. The decisions taken by the Committee shall be implemented for the welfare of SC/ST students, staff, and faculty members.

The Liaison Officer facilitates the overall welfare of the SC/ST community within the institution by organizing coaching classes on life skills, personality development, communication skills, writing skills, presentation skills, and other developmental activities.

Interactive sessions and informal meetings are conducted regularly to help students address their personal, social, and academic concerns.

Students, staff, and faculty members belonging to SC/ST communities may submit their grievances to the Liaison Officer for redressal of academic, administrative, or social issues. The Liaison Officer will provide appropriate guidance and assistance and place the matter before the Committee for ratification. In critical cases, the grievance will be discussed by the Committee, which will decide the appropriate course of action for effective resolution.
