Civil Engineering

VISION

The institution aims to develop core competence, enhance students’ technical and interpersonal skills, meet global research challenges, become a centre of excellence in civil engineering, and maintain quality education.

MISSION

The mission of the civil engineering is to provide students with a broad and thorough education about the civil engineering fundamentals, applications, and design which prepares them for the practice of civil engineering at the professional level with the confidence and skills necessary to meet the technical and social challenges of the future. This problem provides a very good knowledge in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering mechanics, and also Civil engineering, aspects coupled with application of modern engineering tools. Graduates will attain the skills for entry-level engineering positions leading to professional engineering registration which enables them to continue education at advanced levels.

Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs)

In order to prepare our students for successful career in engineering, the Civil Engineering Department maintains an academic program with the following program educational objectives:

  1. To prepare students for successful career in industry that meet the needs of Indian and multinational companies.
  2. To provide students with a sound foundation in the mathematical, scientific and engineering fundamentals necessary to formulate, solve and analyse engineering problems and to pursue higher studies.
  3. To develop the creative ability among students utilizing technical competence for application in design, fabrication and product development.
  4. To promote awareness in students for life-long learning and to introduce them to professional issues in civil engineering including: ethics, issues related to the global economy and to emerging technologies.
  5. To foster important job-related skills such as improved oral and written communications and experience in working in a team.

Programme Specific Objectives (PSOs)

The Graduates of B. Tech Civil Engineering will be able to

  1. Graduates shall have an ability to apply fundamental knowledge of mathematics, applied science, engineering and management for the solution of civil engineering problems.
  2. Graduates shall have an ability to enhance their technical and professional skills to utilize their knowledge in specification, fabrication, testing and operation of basic civil engineering projects/processes.
  3. Graduates shall have an ability to apply learned principles to the design, analysis, development and implementation of advanced civil engineering projects.
